The Detroit Mobility and Innovation Corridor (DMIC) Project will involve rebuilding and repurposing a 2-mile stretch of US-12 (Michigan Avenue) in Corktown. Located between I-96 and M-1 (Woodward Avenue), the project is designed to make the Corktown neighborhood more accessible to accommodate more residential and commercial development. Adjacent to the historic Michigan Central Station, the project supports advanced mobility initiatives while building a shared-use corridor that will create bicycle facilities for all ages and abilities, and other aspects of roadway design to maintain the corridor's unique and historical feel.
