Joyce M. Woods is a chemical engineer with the Dow Chemical Company, where she has worked for 26 years. She was honored as the "1996 Woman of Excellence" by the Federation of Houston Professional Women and received the "Distinguished New Engineer" award from the National Society of Women Engineers in 1987. Ms. Woods is an aircraft owner and private pilot, with a multiengine rating. She is presently President of the Michigan Aviation Association and served as co-director of the Michigan Air Tour in 2003 and 2004. She has been active in support of aviation safety in Michigan and was a speaker at the 2006 Great Lakes International Aviation Conference.
