LANSING -
Attorney General Mike Cox joined Florida Attorney General Bill
McCollum and 11 other Attorneys General to file a lawsuit against the federal
government challenging the constitutionality of the H.R. 3590, the health care
reform bill signed into law today by President Obama. The lawsuit was filed
today in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
"Never before in our history have you had to buy something as the
price of citizenship," said Cox. "This is an unprecedented overreach by
Congress and the President. There are limits to what Congress can force the
individual and the state to do, and this bill exceeds those limits."
