Legal Secretary Positions

The Department of Attorney General employs approximately 200 legal secretaries and supervisory legal secretaries in its many divisions.  Legal Secretaries coordinate office activities for attorneys, performing a variety of legal secretarial duties such as scheduling hearings, preparing legal documents and correspondence, docketing cases and maintaining court documents and diaries, and providing information and direction to others.  The work requires knowledge of legal secretarial office practices.  Please review the Legal Secretary Job Specification located on the Michigan Department of Civil Service website: www.michigan.gov/mdcs for more information about the required Civil Service examination process and a listing of current vacancy postings for our department as well as other state departments.
