Helping SeniorsAdvocacy for Seniors

Attorney General Schuette is dedicated to protecting Michigan seniors. The Attorney General's office works proactively to protect Michigan's most vulnerable citizens.  The Senior Brigade program provides seniors and their caregivers with trusted and useful information on financial matters, common senior scams, health care and veteran's affairs.  The office also offers free, in-person Senior Brigade presentations on topics such as: Phone and Mail Scams; Identity Theft; Investment Fraud; Home Repair and Equity Scams; and Residential Care Facilities.    

 

Attorney General Schuette remains committed to the aggressive prosecution of criminals who engage in elder abuse.  His office maintains a joint enforcement initiative with the Social Security Administration to protect residents of nursing homes from financial exploitation.
