Employment Opportunities

Welcome to the Michigan Department of Attorney General's online Employment Opportunities page.  We employ approximately 500 persons in a wide variety of professional, clerical, and technical positions.  As classified state employees, our staff enjoys excellent fringe benefits and a common dedication to providing high quality legal representation on behalf of our client agencies, the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative branches of government, and the citizens of our state.  Office hiring policy is according to the Michigan Department of Civil Service Rules and Regulations and, where applicable, collective bargaining agreement (see Michigan Department of Civil Service Rules and Regulations for more details at: www.michigan.gov/mdcs).  Current vacancies for our department and other departments are posted at the above Civil Service website.  Once at the website, use the drop-down menu on the left to access "Employment Information" followed by "Career Center" and "Search MI Jobs."  Applicants may also go through the "Career Center" drop-down to "Job Interest Cards" to register to receive e-mail notification of future job postings in specific job categories.

NOTE:  Civil Service Rule 1-7 requires that all persons newly hired into state government positions submit and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to their actual appointment to the classified service (see Civil Service Rule 1-7 for more information).  Additionally, our department conducts a pre-employment background check.
