| The respected Journal SCIENCE recently published "Use of U.S. Croplands for Biofuels Increases Greenhouse Gases Through Emissions from Land Use Change" which found that using any currently produced biofuel was far worse for the environment than using ordinary gasoline and actually speeds global warming. Biofuel production is shrinking the human food supply, causing water shortages, and accelerating topsoil erosion which leads to desertification of the planet. The only two biofuels anyone should be interested in are biofuels made from true garbage (not essential crop residue which should be plowed under) and biodiesel made from algae. Unfortunately those two technologies are still experimental and unproven. See: "The biofuel hoax is causing a world food crisis!" http://home.att.net/~meditation/bio-fuel-hoax.html |

| What kind of dope are you guys smoking? first the gov't pays to take farmland out of production. Now gov't creates a subsidy for corn farmers so all the "erodible" land that was so essential for conservation is now going to be used for farmer welfare programs. The Soil Conservation Districts should be ashamed of themselves! Look at the price of feed now, not to mention the cost of fertilizer. For what? To grow subsidized corn. It's disgusting! Carbon Credits? Another joke. |
