| Broadband Maps - Update |

In December 2009, Michigan was awarded approximately $1.8 million in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to immediately begin a broadband mapping and planning initiative called Connect Michigan (www.connectmi.org). The result is a detailed statewide ConnectMichigan interactive broadband coverage map.
This map will ultimately be included in NTIA's national broadband map. To facilitate the mapping process, the Michigan Public Service Commission has partnered with Connected Nation, a national nonprofit with extensive experience in broadband mapping.
