A career in the Michigan State Budget Office (SBO) provides individuals with a unique opportunity to serve residents of the State of Michigan. In addition to crafting the governor's budget recommendation, SBO is also responsible for presenting budget recommendations to the Legislature and implementing the budget approved by the Legislature and signed by the governor.

Working for the budget office goes beyond developing the governor's budget, as SBO also includes the Office of Financial Management, the Office of Internal Audit Services, and the Center for Educational Performance and Information.
