How much tax does the state collect?
 
Answer:
During fiscal year 2010, the state collected $23.2 billion in taxes. Five specific taxes comprised 80.5% of the taxes collected: personal income tax (29.7%), sales tax (26.7%), single business and Michigan business tax (8.0%), property tax (8.3%), and motor vehicle and fuel tax (7.8%).
