How much debt has the state incurred?
 
Answer:

The state's outstanding debt totaled $8.4 billion as of September 30, 2008. This was comprised of $1.5 billion in general obligation bonds, $6.7 billion in revenue dedicated bonds, and $0.2 billion in commercial paper. Below is a five-year history of the state's outstanding debt:
