The SRSD/UIC Resolution Simulation assumes that you have first viewed the SRSD/UIC Resolution Tutorial. The SRSD/UIC Resolution Simulation offers an interactive environment where a user may browse through various student UIC scenarios applicable for Phase 1 and Phase 2 resolution. If you have a specific UIC situation that you are attempting to resolve, identify the appropriate approach below and watch that particular simulation. Please note that this simulation does not replace a thorough review of the SRSD/UIC Application User’s Guide. To select a scenario, use your mouse to click where indicated.
Phase 1 Resolution (students with similar last name, first name, date of birth, and gender):
· A student record is submitted with a UIC
o You determine that the student you have submitted is the same student as a "possible match" record. However, the UIC you have submitted is different. You want to keep the UIC that you submitted for this student.
o You determine that the student you have submitted is the same student as a "possible match" record. However, the UIC you have submitted is different. You want to use the UIC associated with the "possible match" record.
o You determine that the student you have submitted is the same student from a "possible match" record. The UIC you have submitted is the same.
o You determine that the student you have submitted is a different student from a "possible match" record. The UICs are different. You want to keep the UIC you have submitted for your student.
· A student record is submitted without a UIC
o You determine your submitted record is the same as a possible match.
o You determine that no records from possible matches coincide with your submitted record.
Phase 2 Confirmation (student reported with the same UIC):
· Two records in the UIC Master Table match and share a UIC. You determine that this is the same student.
· Two or more records share the same UIC. You determine that these are different students.
