New to the MEIS?

The following is a guide to help get you started. 

Where To Go To*

Create Your MEIS Account (necessary to submit data through the Michigan Information Education System or MEIS)

1. Go to http://www.michigan.gov/meis.
2. Click on "gold key," MEIS User Management.
3. In pink box, click on Create an MEIS Account.
4. Follow the instructions, a total of four (4) steps.
5. Print the account information (MEIS ID#, login, and password) for your records.

Access Security Agreement Forms (required for access to EACH database)

1. Click on MEIS Data Services.
2. Click on Single Record Student Database (SRSD), or on Registry of Educational Personnel (REP), or on School Infrastructure Database (SID), or on Financial Information Database (FID), or on School Code Master (SCM), to access the respective security agreement form.

Note: SRSD, REP, SID, FID, and SCM each require a separate security agreement.

    3.   In the pink box, click on Security Agreement.

    4.   Click on Security Form.

Access the School Code Master (SCM) (requires a valid MEIS account and security agreement)

(IMPORTANT:  As the official directory of schools and facility information, the School Code Master is the link for all MEIS datasets.)

1. Click on MEIS Data Services.
2. Click on School Code Master.
3. In the pink box, click on School Code Master Application.
4. On the left, click on login.
5. Enter your MEIS login and password.

Submit/Update/Upload Data (requires a valid MEIS account and security agreement)

1. Click on MEIS Data Services.
2. Click on Single Record Student Database, or on Registry of Educational Personnel, or on School Infrastructure Database, or on Financial Information Database, or on School Code Master, to access the respective data area.
3. In the pink box, click on Application.
4. Enter your MEIS login and password (login and password are case sensitive).

Change Your MEIS Password

1. Go to http://www.michigan.gov/meis.
2. Click on "gold key," MEIS User Management.
3. In the green box, enter your MEIS login and password (login and password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Change Password.
