Verifying Your CEPI Authorized Users
We recommend that district lead administrators verify the district's CEPI
authorized users on a regular basis, as changes in staffing occur frequently
throughout the school year. Periodically, as a courtesy, our office will e-mail
lead administrators a current list of the district's current CEPI application
users. School personnel members can request a list of their district's
authorized users at any time by sending an e-mail message to CEPI customer support
at cepi@michigan.gov.
In late 2008, CEPI began to utilize the Single Sign-On (SSO) security framework,
with the release of the Educational Entity Master (EEM) and Michigan Student
Data System (MSDS). Instructions for adding users and updating contact
information differ based on whether the application is MEIS or SSO based. Click
the applicable link below for instructions on how to update your district's
records.
Ensuring the Accuracy of Your MEIS Authorized Users
MEIS applications include: Financial Information Database (FID), Registry of
Educational Personnel (REP) and School Infrastructure Database (SID)
Ensuring the Accuracy of Your SSO Authorized Users
The SSO applications are the Educational Entity Master (EEM) and the Michigan
Student Data System (MSDS).
Ensuring the Accuracy of Your MEIS Authorized Users
Changes in staffing occur frequently throughout the school year. Therefore,
as you verify your authorized users, you may encounter one or more scenarios:
- Your list of authorized users is entirely accurate. You do not need to do
anything else. Thank you for keeping your records up to date with the state.
- Please complete and fax an
Authorized User Removal Request Form if an
authorized user on the list falls into one of the following categories.
- The user is no longer employed by your district.
- The user's permission for one or more of the databases has changed.
- The user is no longer responsible for submitting these data.
- The user has more than one MEIS account that he/she is not currently using.
- An individual's e-mail address or phone number has changed. The individual
must update his/her account in the
MEIS User Management System:
- Log in and click on the "Edit Personal Information" link.
- Make any appropriate changes and then click the "Save Changes" button at
the bottom of the page.
- An individual's name has changed. The individual must
create a new MEIS
account and complete the appropriate security agreements for the CEPI
applications for which he/she has authorization. The individual must also
complete and fax the
Authorized User Removal Request Form.
If you have any other questions regarding your district's MEIS or SSO
authorized users or their accounts, please contact CEPI customer support at
517-335-0505 or cepi@michigan.gov.
