Verify Your Educational Entity Master Data
The Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) maintains the state of Michigan's database of educational entity information, the Educational Entity Master (EEM). As of October 6, 2008, the EEM replaced the previous database, the School Code Master (SCM).
The data maintained in the EEM are used for mandated data submissions to the state and federal government and are critical to fulfilling the requirements of No Child Left Behind and Education YES! The EEM is the link among all educational data collections for the state of Michigan. If your district's data in the Educational Entity Master are not accurate, you may have difficulty submitting student, personnel, finance and safety data to CEPI.
In order to avoid any delays in or complications with your data submissions, please regularly verify and update your data in the Educational Entity Master. It is critical that you verify your district's records if your district has undergone any re-configuration of grade levels. Correct grade-level designation of schools and unique education providers is important to the generation of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports. Correct e-mail addresses are critical in the EEM since these are used by the Michigan Department of Education and CEPI to contact school officials and other personnel.
If you do not know your district's EEM authorized user, and would like to have him or her identified for you, please send an e-mail message to CEPI customer support at
cepi@michigan.gov or call (517) 335-0505 and select option 3. Please provide your name, telephone number (including area code and extension), district code, and district name (if applicable), along with your message.
Authorized users can access the EEM at
https://sso.state.mi.us/. You may refer to the
user documentation available online if you need general help.
Click on the "Authorized User Login" link. Use your SSO login and password, and choose "Educational Entity Master." Click on "My Entities" and then on "List of Entities" to see a complete list of schools/districts/other entities for which you are responsible. You may wish to access the User's Guide for a review of what you can do in the system. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
