American FactFinder provides a number of map navigation features to help you locate or view the geographic area that you want. You can:
- Select the geographic area you want using the Change Selections menu.
- Use the zoom controls to change the zoom level of the map.
- Use the map options to recenter the map, or recenter and zoom in.
- Click the compass arrows to move the map display.
- Click the Go to selection hyperlink to quickly return the focus of a map to the currently selected geographic area (Thematic Maps only).
FactFinder's map display options let you customize your map to suit your needs. You can:
- Choose the boundaries and labels that are displayed on the map.
- Select the orienting features, such as major roads or waterbodies, to display on the map.
- Provide a title for the map.
- For Thematic Maps, change the number of classes, the color scheme, and the classing method used for the data distribution.
You can print and download both Reference Maps and Thematic Maps.
