| Returned Checks |
|
A resident applicant that takes an examination must bring a check or a money order payable to the State of Michigan for the application fee in the appropriate amount. A "stale-dated" or "NSF" (non-sufficient funds) check will be returned to the applicant for replacement. Failure to immediately replace the invalid check will result in disciplinary action against the licensee which could subject the licensee to a civil fine and/or revocation of license. An individual who is retesting and has presented a "stale-dated" or an "NSF" check in the past will be denied access to the examination until the check is replaced.
A non-resident applicant who mails cash, or a check payable to any other entity except the State of Michigan, will delay the approval process. The original application plus the incorrect check/cash will be returned to the mailing address on the application. The applicant will be required to resubmit the original application including correct fee.
