Program activities are designed to encourage the use of new technologies and alternative fuels in buildings, industrial processes, vehicles and in power generation. Program objectives are advanced through a variety of services, including information dissemination, technical assistance, financial assistance and demonstration projects. The primary funding source for Energy Office activities is the U.S. Department of Energy. The Energy Office operates jointly within the Michigan Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs (OPLA) a division of the MI Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG).
