Education Requirements

Applicants must possess an acceptable bachelors degree in surveying. Applicants who possess a bachelors of science degree in land surveying from an institution whose facilities, faculty and curriculum has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Professional Surveyors will be deemed to have met the education requirement. There are currently bachelors programs in Michigan that have been approved by the Board:

Michigan Technological University - BS Surveying

Ferris State University - BS Surveying Engineering

All other bachelor of science degrees will be evaluated in accordance with the course content guidelines as set forth in the administrative rules governoring the profession. An applicant whose degree does not meet these course guidelines may correct the deficiency by obtaining additional course credit after graduation.
