  • What's UP?

The State of Michigan, local units of government and the private sector have teamed up to launch the second annual Code Michigan event, to be held Oct. 3-5 in Detroit, Marquette and Newaygo. Spend three days with an army of civic-minded developers and designers creating amazing apps for Michigan.

    The Event!

Detroit, Marquette and Newaygo will each award first, second and third place cash prizes. First place is $5,000; second is $1,500; and third place is $500. The first place winners from each location will then go on to compete for the cash grand prize of $10,000 and a 30 minute meeting to pitch their winning idea to Renaissance Venture Capital Fund.

    Challenges!!

Challenges are a contest within a contest—an opportunity to pad your victory with extra cash and prizes. Challenges are known problems looking for a solution. Deciding the challenge winner is up to the whims of the challenge owner. Show off your solution and the challenge owner may grant you bonus cash and prizes or give you the cold shoulder.

    Interested?

If you want to change government then register to attend Code Michigan at either Detroit, Marquette or Newaygo; show up; and build and submit your solution with video. Just hanging out with like-minded civic innovators is worth your time.
