Intensive Detention ReEntry Program

The Department started the  Intensive Detention ReEntry Program (IDRP) in July of 2004 to house chronic non-compliant parolees who are in need of short term programming. The Department currently contracts with the Ingham County Jail and the Clinton County Jail to house up to 190 (Ingham) and up to 50 (Clinton) parole violators.  Offenders may be placed in IDRP for up to 45 days, however; the average stay is 30 days.  Programming is offered at both of the facilities.

Two parole agents are assigned to work with the IDRP population.  The IDRP agents assist offenders with an updated release plan, including but not limited to housing, treatment and employment needs.  The agents help the parolees with their transition back into the community, promoting offender success.
