The Leadership Training Unit provides a wide array of training to the Department's current and future leaders. Initial training is designed to familiarize supervisors and managers with the skills necessary to guide and direct staff in a positive manner, while continuing to grow into their leadership role within the organization. Ongoing training focuses on specific groups of supervisory, managerial and executive leaders. This targeted approach allows training staff to address the technical, human, and/or conceptual skills needed by each group. Overall, the training assists participants in developing the character, credibility and positive attitude necessary to become more effective leaders.
