Field Agent New Employee Training
(Parole and Probation Agents)

 

Program F

Program F is the training program for new Field Agents (Parole and Probation Agents). This program is completed in three separate phases.

 

Phase 1 is the initial training period which consists of the non-custody new employee training programs D and E.

 

Phase 2 is 360 hours of On-The-Job Training and is completed at the new field agent's work site.

 

Phase 3 completes a new field agent's training. The training courses in Phase 3 include both computer-based training courses and classroom sessions. The classroom sessions are instructed by subject matter experts from the Field Operations Administration. The computer-based training courses are delivered through the Department‘s Distance Learning and Information Center and/or CD-ROM.

 

Topics in this program include criminal justice sentencing, community residential programs, community resources, electronic monitoring systems, interview skills, interstate compact for adults, offender supervision, parole process, parole violation issues, pre parole process, pre-sentence investigations, probation process, probation violation process,  sentencing guidelines, substance abuse, supervision fees, supervision standards/classification, and technical rule violation centers.
