Crisis Stabilization Program

The Crisis Stabilization Program (CSP) is a specialized, prison-based housing unit of several contiguous observation cells for the rapid evaluation, stabilization and triage of prisoners experiencing a mental health crisis whose behavior may be linked to manifestations of mental illness or suicide risk. Depending on their clinical situation, after evaluation and stabilization in the CSP, prisoners may be returned to their sending prison or transferred to another prison or psychiatric hospital for specialized mental health services in the CMHP.
