Internet and Dial-up Access at Work

Internet and Dial-up Access
  • The State of Michigan monitors web surfing for inappropriate site access.
  • Do not use the State's Internet connection for non-business related chat or instant messaging.
  • Do not use modems without appropriate DIT approval – If someone can dial-in to your machine, they may be able to gain access to information on your machine.
  • Do not use a modem connection to the Internet while connected to your agency's network – If someone successfully attacks you through the modem, they might bypass your network's security and take control of your machine
