Trusted Recovery States
  • When an operating system or application crashes or freezes, it should not put the system into an insecure state.
  • A system should be designed to “fail closed” meaning it does not fail and allow open access to its resources.
  • Most common method of monitoring the “state” of a resource is to monitor the input and output controls.
