  • Improper environmental controls or unsupervised environment utilities can cause damage to services, hardware and lives.
  • Environment variables include the physical elements that a business relies upon to function such as HVAC, location, fire prevention, perimeter controls, building access and personnel controls.
  • Environment example:
    • Shielding: refers to the process of preventing electronic emissions from your computer systems from being used to gather intelligence and preventing outside electronic emissions from disrupting your information-processing capabilities.
    • TEMPEST: A government code name for a project begun in the 1950's.
