The Department of Environmental Quality and The Dow Chemical Company will be holding the next quarterly Midland/Saginaw/Bay City (Tri-Cities) Dioxin Community Meeting on Thursday, February 8, at the Horizons Conference Center, 6200 State Street, Saginaw. The meeting is open to the public and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Staff from the DEQ, Department of Community Health, and Dow, with their consultants, will be available one-half hour before and one-half hour after the meeting for individual discussion with the public.
Agenda items for the February 8 meeting include overviews of the results of the Upper Tittabawassee River/Floodplain GeoMorphTM characterization, the Pilot Corrective Action Plan for interim response activities for the Upper Tittabawassee River, and the Remedial Investigation Work Plan review process. An hour is set aside at the end of the meeting for questions and discussion on these and other topics.

During 2007 additional quarterly community meetings are scheduled to be held on May 3 (originally scheduled for May 17), August 9, and November 28 (originally scheduled for November 8). Please note that the previously announced dates for the May and November meetings have been changed.
