The Department of Environmental Quality and The Dow Chemical Company will be holding the next quarterly Midland/Saginaw/Bay City (Tri-Cities) Dioxin Community Meeting on Thursday, May 3, at the Horizons Conference Center, 6200 State Street, Saginaw. The meeting is open to the public and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Staff from the DEQ, Department of Community Health, and Dow, with their consultants, will be available one-half hour before and one-half hour after the meeting for individual discussion with the public.
Agenda items for the May 3 meeting include overviews of the Midland Area Soils Sampling and Analysis Findings and Next Steps; Tittabawassee River Pilot Corrective Action Plan/Interim Response Activities (PCAP/IRA) Progress and Plans, including State and Federal Permit Issues for PCAP/IRA Work; Tittabawassee River Remedial Investigation Work Plan Status; and the Human Health Risk Assessment Process. An hour is set aside at the end of the meeting for questions and discussion on these and other topics.

During 2007, additional quarterly community meetings are scheduled to be held on August 9 and November 28.
