The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will be holding a public hearing on a major modification of the hazardous waste management facility operating license issued to The Dow Chemical Company. The public hearing is scheduled to be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, at Saginaw Valley State University, Curtiss Hall, Seminar Room G, 7400 Bay Road, Saginaw, Michigan.
The major license modification is being proposed to fulfill the requirements of the recent settlement agreement entered into by Dow, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the DNRE on January 14.
The draft license modification sets up a process in which specific corrective action obligations required under the license can simultaneously be satisfied by work conducted in compliance with the settlement agreement.
