Administrative Fines

Administrative Fines

Monitoring and reporting requirements and drinking water standards are established for public water supplies under authority of 1976 PA 399 for the protection of public health. Act 399 establishes administrative fines for those water supplies that fail to comply with monitoring and reporting requirements. The fines are to be used as a tool for the department and their authorized agents to promote compliance and meet regulatory enforcement responsibilities.
