The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers several programs which provide incentives to local units of government, business and industry to be proactive in carrying out their environmental responsibilities. Positive public recognition, regulatory flexibility and other incentives are available to those in the regulatory community who go beyond the traditional requirements outlined in the rules and regulations.


		Clean Corporate Citizen

		Click here for: The Clean Corporate Citizen (C3) program allows regulated establishments that have demonstrated environmental stewardship and a strong environmental ethic through their operations in Michigan to be recognized as Clean Corporate Citizens.


		Environmental Audit Privilege & Immunity

		Click here for: The Environmental Audit Privilege and Immunity Law provides incentives for businesses to perform environmental audits and promptly report and correct violations.


		Environmental Management System

		Click here for: Environmental Management System (EMS) The part of an overall management system that addresses environmental concerns through the allocation of resources, assignment of responsibilities, and ongoing evaluation of practices, procedures, and processes to achieve sound environmental performance.
