DEQ Director Steve Chester today announced the appointment of twelve new members to the Environmental Advisory Council. The EAC is made up of representatives from industry, environmental, academic, local governmental, and other groups affected by DEQ activities. It advises the DEQ on programs, policies, and operations, and provides an opportunity for groups with diverse interests to discuss environmental issues. Membership is on a rotating basis for two year terms.
“In its first two years, the EAC provided a valuable service by recommending improvements in DEQ public involvement programs and by commenting on other major policy issues facing the DEQ,” said Director Chester. “I am indebted to retiring members and look forward to the contributions these new members will bring to the work of the EAC.”
