DEQ Plans Public Meeting in Ann Arbor

Contact:  Robert McCann (517) 241-7397
Agency: Environmental Quality

April 28, 2005

Department of Environmental Quality Director Steven E. Chester has announced a public meeting to be held in Ann Arbor on May 3.

Director Chester and several of his key staff are continuing to hold public outreach sessions across the state to solicit comments on environmental issues facing their community. The Ann Arbor Public Meeting will be held at Pioneer High School, Little Theater, 601 West Stadium Drive in Ann Arbor. The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will begin with a short presentation by Director Chester. The public meeting will then be opened for an informal question and answer session.

“It is crucial that the DEQ is accessible to the citizens of Michigan,” said DEQ Director Chester. “These forums provide us with the opportunity to hear comments and concerns about Michigan’s environment directly from citizens across our state.”

Editor’s note: DEQ news releases are available on the department’s Internet home page at www.michigan.gov/deq.
