Department of Environmental Quality Director Steven E. Chester will participate at a hearing of the Senate Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee being held in Centreville. The hearing is designed to solicit input from the public on how Michigan can best protect and preserve its water resources.

"This is an issue of great significance for all Michigan citizens," said Director Chester. "I want to thank Senator Birkholz for hosting this meeting, and encourage the public to share their opinions on how best Michigan can protect the Great Lakes and our surface and ground waters."

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 26, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm in Glen Oaks Community College’s Nora Hagen Theatre.
