The Department of Environmental Quality will be hosting “Pollution Prevention and Food Safety Seminars for the Restaurant Industry” on April 4 in Pontiac; April 6 in Grand Rapids; and April 11 in Ann Arbor. Representatives from Michigan’s restaurant industry are encouraged to attend to learn new methods of decreasing overhead costs, while increasing food safety and protecting our environment.
This event will highlight success stories from restaurant pollution prevention case studies, partner programs for food-related businesses, and tips for reducing contaminants. Attendees will also receive information on food service composting, waste diversion techniques, free technical assistance programs, the Small Business P2 Loan Program, and recognition incentives for pollution prevention activities within the industry.
The seminar will provide a wealth of information and networking opportunities for restaurant operators, environmental sanitarians, and public works professionals.
The registration cost of $65 includes continental breakfast, lunch, and workshop materials. A vendor show will take place during registration, breaks, and lunch.
