The Department of Environmental Quality will be hosting the 2006 Michigan Environmental Compliance Conference series on June 1 in Gaylord, June 6 in Livonia, and June 8 in Grand Rapids. Conference attendees will receive a comprehensive overview of Michigan’s environmental regulations from DEQ staff. This event will be of benefit to anyone working in the environmental field.
Conference highlights include:
• Over 20 sessions on hazardous waste and wastewater management,
air quality, release reporting, emergency planning, and other issues.
• Keynote speakers - Fred P. Keller, Chairman and CEO, Cascade
Engineering (Grand Rapids), Major Ken DeGraaf, Environmental
Compliance Officer, Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center
(Gaylord), and Tim Westerdale, President of General Oil Company
(Livonia).
• Early release of the 4th Edition of the Michigan Manufacturers’ Guide
to Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulations, a plain-English
guide explaining environmental, health, and safety regulations that
affect businesses in Michigan.
• An expert exhibit area providing one-on-one assistance with agency
representatives.
This conference is designed for those responsible for making sure their company, municipality, or institution is in compliance with Michigan’s environmental regulations. Environmental consultants, state and local officials, and anyone else that is interested in learning about the regulations and how to comply are also welcome.
Interested individuals are encouraged to register early. The $75 early registration, or $90 late registration, includes refreshments, lunch, and workshop materials.
