The Department of Environmental Quality is pleased to announce the 2008 SARA Title III Tier Two Workshops being held in Treetops Village on January 17, Novi on January 24, Grand Rapids on January 29, and Lansing on January 31. This half-day workshop is designed for owners, operators, and environmental and safety personnel of facilities that have hazardous materials on site. Environmental consultants, Local Emergency Planning Committees, and fire department personnel can also benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to attend.

Attendees will learn how to complete and submit the new online Tier Two report and be provided with the SARA Title III emergency planning notification requirements and chemical release reporting requirements in Michigan. Information received from this workshop will help facilities avoid costly penalties while protecting first responders, the community, and the environment. Participants will receive "Michigan Facilities' Guide to SARA Title III, Emergency Planning & Release Reporting."
