The Department of Environmental Quality presents The Handling Hazardous Building Materials: How to Stay Safe and Be Environmentally Friendly Workshop & Expo, which will be held at the Laurel Manor in Livonia on March 9. This workshop will help guide those who work in or near, or manage, a renovation or demolition activity to learn safe handling techniques that will protect themselves and others from the effects of hazardous materials.
Attendees will hear explanations of the latest requirements; get an inside look at the latest pollution prevention techniques; and learn quick tips for conducting safe and healthy renovation and demolition activities involving asbestos, PCBs, fugitive dust, mercury, lead, and mold. The workshop will also feature an expo area where vendors will display their products and services.
Thanks to the generosity of co-sponsors, this workshop, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, workshop materials, and entrance to the expo area, is offered at the low price of $75. Please note that Continuing Education Credits, through the Bureau of Construction Codes, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth, may be earned for workshop attendance.
