The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, presents the Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI) Reporting Workshops, to be held on May 26, 2004, at the Hannah Center in East Lansing, and on May 27, 2004, at the Grayling Holiday Inn.
These half-day sessions are designed for persons familiar with TRI reporting required under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA), also known as SARA Title III, and Section 6607 of the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 (PPA).
This training will provide case studies and sample calculations to help the TRI reporter understand reporting criteria and release and waste management reporting. Reporting changes for 2003 will also be presented. Participants are encouraged to forward questions in advance to deq-ead-tri@michigan.gov so they may be addressed at the training.
Attendance is encouraged from facilities that report under TRI and consulting firms that assist with TRI reporting. The registration fee of $50 includes continental breakfast and workshop materials. Register online at www.michigan.gov/deqworkshops (click on “Workshops”). For registration information, contact the Environmental Assistance Center at 1-800-662-9278, or e-mail at deq-ead-env-assist@michigan.gov.
Editor’s note: DEQ news releases are available on the department’s Internet home page at www.michigan.gov/deq.
