Environmental Protection Agency Region V

General Guidance

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If your facility was required to submit an RMP for a Program 2 or Program 3 process, you must announce and hold a public meeting by FEBRUARY 1, 2000, to discuss your RMP, including the Offsite Consequence Analaysis (OCA) sections. You must then certify to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) by June 5, 2000 that you have held the meeting.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released RMP*Submit. RMP*Submit is the free, official EPA, personal computer software for facilities to use in submitting Risk Management Plans (RMP) required under the Risk Management Program. If you must comply with this regulation, this software will facilitate your RMP submittal.

For software or installation problems, contact the RMP Reporting Center at (301)429-5018 (8am-4:30pm EST M-F). For compliance assistance and policy-related questions, call the RMP Call Center at (800) 424-9346.

You may submit your RMP to the Reporting Center at any time even though RMPs were due on June 21, 1999.

The procedure and address is as follows:
RMPs must be submitted on diskette. Small business that do not have computer access are eligible for an "electronic waiver" and can submit their reports on paper. Please send to:

RMP Reporting Center
P.O. Box 1515
Lanham-Seabrook, MD 20703-1515

For express (e.g. FedEx) deliveries, please use this address:

RMP Reporting Center
c/o Computer Sciences Corp., Suite 300
8400 Corporate Drive
New Carrollton, MD 20785
phone: (301)429-5018
