Leaking Underground Storage Tank Program

Agency: Environmental Quality


At the time of a release, the owner/operator is responsible for the corrective actions mandated by Part 213, Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 of PA 451, as amended (NREPA). Owners/operators are required to hire Qualified Underground Storage Tank Consultants (QCs) to perform corrective actions in accordance with Part 213, and to submit specific reports required by the statute. The Remediation and Redevelopment Division of the Department of Environmental Quality is charged with selectively auditing all aspects of the corrective actions undertaken.
