Part 201 & Part 213 Cleanup and Redevelopment Program Redesign

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Remediation and Redevelopment Division has developed a proposed cleanup and redevelopment program redesign framework (see brief summary) based primarily on the recommendations developed by the Part 201 Discussion Group.  The proposal was presented in three sessions.  The first session, covering the proposed redesign of liable party remedial obligations, was presented November 7, 2008.  The second segment, covering the proposed redesign of due care obligations, liability protections and brownfields was presented December 18, 2008.

The third segment, covering compliance and enforcement provisions of the proposed redesign was presented on January 22, 2009.

The webcast of the presentations is taped and is available upon request.  If you are interested in obtaining  copies please indicate which session(s) and provide your mailing address in a request to: bancroftk@michigan.gov.  A printable copy of the slide shows for these sessions will also be included on the CD.

Information and updates on the redesign process will be provided to subscribers to the DEQ-RRD-List Server.  If you have not subscribed to our listserver a link to subscribe is available on our webpage (http://www.michigan.gov/deqrrd) in the right hand column.
