Thursday December 3, 2009:
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) held a public hearing to accept comments on a series of permit applications from the Kennecott Eagle Minerals Company (KEMC) to reopen the Humboldt Mill. The hearing were held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
The DEQ will accept written comments until close of business on Tuesday, December 29, 2009.

("Administratively complete" means an application for a mining permit is determined to contain all of the documents and information required under Part 632.)

Kennecott Eagle Minerals announced plans to apply for permits to rehabilitate and operate the abandoned Humboldt Mill for beneficiating ores.
As soon as possible after the Part 632 application is received, it will be posted on the web. It will also be available in printed format at various locations in Marquette
County
and in
Lansing
at the Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Geological Survey.
