Drilling Unit Definitions
The drilling unit picture shows a square mile as a single section, two adjacent half sections, or four adjacent quarter sections. The numbers at each corner indicate which section that quadrant of the picture represents. The top of the picture is always north.
Each letter represents a quarter/quarter/quarter (QQQ) section. "U" represents a QQQ in the drilling unit. "S" represents the QQQ in the unit that contains the surface location, while "B" shows a bottom hole location. If both the surface and bottom are in the same QQQ, only the "B" is shown. "O" represents a QQQ outside the unit that contains the surface location. "X" represents a missing or fractional QQQ.
In the report "QT" stands for quarter section. "QT QT QT" is the same as "QQQ" above.
