Michigan's Oil and Gas Regulations  

Oil and Gas exploration, drilling, and operating is regulated under the the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, Act No. 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, as amended (last amended 9/10/2004).
Michigan's Oil and Gas Regulations  includes the following (.pdf format):

the Administrative Rules used with these laws
a list of the Methods, Standards, and Specifications used in the laws
a directory of forms used for permitting, drilling, and operating wells

The most current forms may be downloaded from our website.

The following amendment to Act 451 is a broad amendment affecting many programs.  Parts of it apply to the oil and gas permitting process by setting a time frame for issuing a permit.
