General Permits and Pre-Approved Lists of Specific Waterbodies Eligible for Certificates of Coverage (COC)

General Permit ANCG11-97, for Aquatic Nuisance Control Activities for Ponds -The General Permit issued by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for aquatic nuisance control activities in ponds.  Before applying for a Certificate of Coverage (COC) for your pond, please read the General Permit and any amendment(s) thoroughly to determine if the treatment options you seek are covered.  In addition, please determine from the Candidate List below, if your pond has been approved for a COC.
  • Chemicals approved for Ponds -A list of chemicals for ponds that have been approved by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to qualify for the General Permit, ANCG11-97.

  • Ponds currently eligible for COC coverage -A list of ponds that have been approved by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to qualify for the General Permit, ANCG11-97.


General Permit ANCG11-96, for Aquatic Nuisance Control Activities for Canals and Marinas Located on the Great Lakes and Connecting Waters -The General Permit issued by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for aquatic nuisance control activities in canals and/or marinas located on the Great Lakes and connecting waters.  Before applying for a COC for your canal and/or marina, please read the General Permit and any amendment(s) thoroughly to determine if the treatment options you seek are covered.  In addition, please determine from the Candidate List below, if your canal and/or marina qualifies for a COC.
  • Chemicals approved for canals and/or marinas -A list of chemicals for ponds that have been approved by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to qualify for the General Permit, ANCG11-96.

General Permit ANCG11-94, for Aquatic Nuisance Control Activities for Certain Non-native Invasive Emergent Plants  - The General Permit issued by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for the chemical control of certain non-native, invasive emergent aquatic plants in waters of the State. Before applying for a COC for your project, please read the General Permit and any amendment(s) thoroughly to determine if the treatment options you seek are covered. For this General Permit, there is no pre-approved candidate list. Any site that fulfills the criteria outlined in the General Permit may qualify for a COC.
