Best Management Practice (BMP) Form

The updated instructions for BMP reporting reflect the following:

  • The site location needs to listed in decimal degrees. (Contact your project administrator for assistance if needed. Terraserver and Google Earth can help you obtain site location information.)
  • Most basins are now to be reported as component practices, meaning, the primary BMP is the basin, component practices are listed below the basin.
  • Bioretention was added and includes rain gardens and grassed swales.
  • Grassed swales was removed as a separate practice and is now to be reported under bioretention.
  • Composting facility was added.
  • Definition of a filter strip better defined.
  • Definition of a forest riparian buffer strip better defined.
  • Green roof was added.
  • Clarifies that conservation tillage is to be reported under reduced-till or no-till.
  • Dropdown box for Load Reduction Calculation method added.

In addition, the directions coincide with the updated BMP form to reflect a clear distinction between the primary and secondary units which are to be reported for the BMPs.
