The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has changed the format for the full and abbreviated wastewater reports.  The new system, in effect for reporting year 2002, utilizes a single report form for both types of reporting situations.  The new form is accessable by clicking on www.michigan.gov/deq/0,1607,7-135-3307_3667_4136-11269--,00.html.  The following information explains how individuals should utilize this new reporting format for the AWR program:

If you qualify to submit an abbreviated wastewater report form, simply fill out the first page (Section 1, 2 and 3) completely, and return the form to the DEQ as appropriate.  Remember to check the box marked “YES” in Section 3.1 in order to acknowledge your reporting status, then sign and date Section 3.2. 

If you are required to submit a full wastewater report, you must fill out the remaining portion of the report form (Sections 4 though 10).  Remember to check the box marked “NO” in Section 3.1 and sign and date Section 3.2 of the from before submitting it to the DEQ.

ATTENTION:   The DEQ will be launching an electronic reporting system for the AWR program in 2003/2004.  This new e-AWR system should be available to use for report year 2003 (reports due August 1, 2004).  Look for more information regarding the implementation of this e-AWR system in the coming months on the DEQ web page and in the DEQ Calendar.
