Biographical highlights

• 6th generation to live on family farm near Lansing, Michigan.
• Wife Donna and 4 children: Danielle, Kaitlin, Anthony and Andrew.
• B.S & M.S. work in Biosystems Engineering from Michigan State University
• Graduate work guided by Dr. Joe Ritchie, the Homer Nowlin Endowed Chair for Water Research in Agriculture.
• Knowledge base includes groundwater hydrology, small watershed hydrology, biological material water content, agricultural climatology, crop modeling, geographic information systems, and remote sensing.

Responsibilities at Michigan Farm Bureau include:

• Water Quality Management (TMDL review, Water Quality Education)
• Water Quantity Management including Great Lakes Issues
• Co-Chairmanship of the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program.
• Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation regulation.
• Air quality regulation.
• Serve on over 22 different boards and committees representing over 46,000 Michigan farming families with respect to ecology.
